About Us

We, the members of the Joint Veterans Support Committee for Florida National Cemetery, Inc., Bushnell, FL, as former members of the Armed Forces of the United States of America, members of Veterans’ Group Auxiliaries, and citizens who recognize the sacrifice of Veterans and Armed Forces Members, associate ourselves together to proactively support the policies, purposes and legacy of this Cemetery. As members, our goals include representation for our deceased Veterans in the policies of burial and honors due them and their spouses and eligible dependents. We pledge to assist the Director and Staff of Florida National Cemetery in achieving the furtherance of these goals and to assist in planning the proper observance of designated National and State Holidays for the purpose of honoring the men and women who served, and their spouses and eligible dependents.


     Tony, a long time supporter of the Florida National Cemetery, was born in Virginia was raised here in Cocoa, Florida. These days, Tony and his wife Melissa call The Villages home. Tony has two  daughters and two grandsons who also reside in Florida.  Tony is a graduate of John A. Gupton University and has been in the funeral industry for 48 years.  He has managed funeral home and cemetery operations in Rockledge, Orlando, and Ocala.  His previous accomplishments include being the Former Vice President of Marketing for Funeral Services, Inc, the master trust program for the Florida Funeral Directors Association, Tallahassee, FL.  Tony is published in the Florida Funeral Directors Association magazine and a presenter on pre-need planning at Florida Funeral Director Association events.   Tony is currently employed by Beyers Funeral Home, Director and Executive Committee Member on the Foundation Board of Cornerstone Hospice, Secretary on the Lady Lake Chamber of Commerce and Board Member of the Rotary Club of the Villages Noon.



     Brian assists The Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida, with the planning and organization of the Memorial Day and Veteran's Day ceremonies.  He is also on the panning and erection of memorials at the cemetery.  Passionate about veterans. Brian served in the Navy from October 1947 to  December 1987, Brian offers a wide a wide range of experiences as a retired Navy Sea Bee Builder and being involved with Veterans Service Organizations for the past twenty years.After a successful career in construction and facilities management, Brian now assists others after as a FEMA Certified Residential Housing Inspector.  Drawing over 50 years of military experience with the Navy, volunteering with the disaster planning and recovering assistance of the Red Cross, Brian now focuses  on the Patriot Guard Riders and the Joint Veterans Support Committee.  He is also politically involved in serving our country as needed, fulfilling the oath he tool upon joining he Navy.



     Doug hails from Topeka, Kansas.  He and his wife, Kathy, have resided in The Villages since 2013.  They have three daughters, son-in-laws, and nine grand children.  Doug graduated from Washburn University with a BBA and from Drexel University with a MBA.  During his career, he served in various financial positions with FMC and American Natural Soda Ash Corp., an exporter of soda ash.His military service included an assignment in Vietnam in Qui Nhon in '69-'70 as an Army Officer in a Construction Engineer Battalion.  He currently serves as Treasure of the JVSC and as head of the Monument Sub-committee.  In addition to these committees, Doug also serves as an Executive Vice President of Flags for Fallen Vets Inc. for Florida.
